"Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Park" Namrup

 

For a long decades Namrup lacked well-organized park for physical and mental development. Isn't it surprising that there is no park despite having such a big industry? Many people have come to the city for work from different parts of the country for years and then left, their children's have also grown up playing in the open spaces around  quarters without getting any public toy or park.

However, the recent arrival of the newly appointed honourable CMD of BVFCL Namrup, Mr. Prasad Mahanti has brought hope to this ailing industry. He undertakes many initiative that people have never seen before with their eyes through his dedicated efforts. Among these, I would like to mention the park today.

The BVFCL decided to build a park on the abandoned land behind the Officers Club in Namrup. The park was named as "Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Park" on 02 March 2022, on the inauguration ceremony there was attended by BVFCL CMD Mr. Shiv Prasad Mahanti alongwith Naharkatiya Constituency MLA Mr. Tarang Gogoi and other officials.

The park is surrounded by variety of beautiful flowers, jogging footpath, resting chair, eco music system, bright lamp and nice toilet facilities. There is open gym equipments for workout and open toyes for young children. There is also a stage and a fast food corner in the park.
